Low-carb diet used to treat Alzheimer’s

This is potentially good news. Dr. Richard Isaacson, aᅠneurologist at the University of Miami, is putting his Alzheimer’s patients on a low carb diet. I am willing to bet that a paleo diet would be even more effective. If he is allowing toxic foods like Splenda and Nutrasweet, then he may as well not bother. These sweeteners have been shown to interfere with brain functions.

A neurologist at the University of Miami puts all of his Alzheimer’s patients on a diet, which he also recommends for family members at high risk. “It’s a nine-week plan that patients follow. We’ll slowly decrease the amount of carbs that they eat

However, this is a start in the right direction. I hope more Md’s start following suit.ᅠ
